What is a Model United Nations?
MUN is a simulation where participants represent countries or stakeholders and debate global issues using parliamentary procedure and UN‑style rules.
VIT Pune Model United Nations is a prestigious, student-run, three-day simulation of the United Nations held annually at the Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT) campus in Pune, India. It provides a platform for students to practice diplomacy, develop leadership and negotiation skills, and engage with global challenges in a realistic UN-style setting.
Years Of Experience
Delegates Experienced
Honourable Delegates and Distinguished Guests,
It is a privilege to welcome you to the 11th Edition of VIT Pune Model United Nations.
Over the past decade, this conference has become more than just three days of debate. It is a space where ideas are examined with intent, perspectives expand, and delegates learn to value listening as much as speaking. Our journey is defined not only by the committees we conduct, but by the individuals who leave more confident, aware, and ready to contribute beyond these sessions.
As we move ahead from our Decade of Dialogue, this edition reflects renewed purpose. We meet at a time when global affairs are shaped by rapid change and complexity. Geopolitical developments, economic challenges, technological growth, and shifting social priorities require clear thinking and principled leadership. In these committee rooms, you will not only debate these issues but engage with them critically and responsibly.
I encourage you to participate with curiosity and respect for diverse viewpoints. Often, it is the discussions outside formal speeches that leave the deepest impact. Whether you are new to MUN or experienced, I hope this conference helps you strengthen your voice, refine your ideas, and build meaningful connections.
On behalf of the Secretariat and Organising Committee, thank you for being here. We are honoured to host you and look forward to the integrity and thoughtfulness you will bring to this conference.
With sincere regards,
Shivam Sanap
Secretary General

MUN is a simulation where participants represent countries or stakeholders and debate global issues using parliamentary procedure and UN‑style rules.
Delegates research topics, deliver speeches, negotiate in blocs, and draft resolutions — working to propose collaborative solutions rather than simply arguing.
School and college students are welcome — committees are designed for a range of experience levels, from first‑time delegates to seasoned participants.
Delegates are expected to wear Western or Indian formal attire during conference sessions and maintain professionalism, respect, and decorum at all times.
Participation certificates are awarded to delegates; committees may also issue special awards for outstanding performance.
The conference is held on‑campus at VIT Pune. Basic accommodation, food and on‑site support are organised for delegates where required.
